Description

Preamble:
One that will be an authentic leader like Jesus must learn to lead self and others in one-on-one encounters, teams, and communities. Leading in varying roles require influencing superiors (leading up), peers (leading across) and subordinates (leading down). The problem is that not everyone in leadership roles is able to functionally lead up in organisations.

Questions:
How do we lead superiors (lead up)?
What are the practices of leading up in organisations?

Authentic leaders must lead up with practices that are not limited to leading self exceptionally well (1), reducing the workload of leaders (2), going the extra mile willingly (3), investing in relationships genuinely to build trust (4), preparing to meet challenges (5), moving tactically to add value to leaders and organisations (6), and evolving the attributes of a go-to player (7). To lead like Jesus, we must use His mindset to add value to others, especially our leaders.
