God now makes clear how He will bring judgment on the people. The Lord, the LORD of Host will take away from the people all that they need the most. He will take away the whole supply of bread and water. He will also take away every form of leadership that the nation depends on for survival and security.
The people will be desperate for leadership as a result of God's judgment. God will give them the leaders they deserve. Leaders who are unqualified, unprepared, unequipped, filled with evil and unrighteousness, to lead the people. In essence, as a part of God's judgement, the nation will get the leaders they deserve.
God holds these evil leaders as well as all leaders to a high level of accountability. The judgment of these evil leaders will be severe. There will be harsh judgment on the high society, evil woman who have such a great influence on these men who rule so wickedly. But there is also accountability and judgment for the people that choose to follow after such evil leadership rather than living in faithful obedience to God's word.
In the midst of all this judgment, it will be well with the righteous. God is so faithful. Not only will it be well with the righteous remnant but there is a wonderful, beautiful future beyond any possible description that awaits the righteous remnant.
