We now begin a passage of scripture that has been referred to as the Mount Everest of messianic prophesy. In this passage we have the heart of the gospel. It brings us to an amazing accurate description of Jesus in His finished work at Calvary. We cannot truly know Jesus, see Jesus, apart from His finished work at Calvary. It is impossible to know Jesus high and lifted up until we first know him in His awful suffering and humiliation at Calvary.

In this study, we will be introduced to God's Servant, Jesus. It is important to note and understand the servanthood of Jesus. You and I have been called to follow Jesus, obey Jesus and like Jesus we are called to servanthood. Jesus is the sole example of servanthood that every believer is called to.

Jesus in His earthly ministry dealt prudently in all His ways. Again, as true followers of Jesus, we to must live a circumspect life. We are to behave wisely in all our ways. We are once again called to follow the example that Jesus has set for us.

Prepare your heart as we are about to ascend the great height of messianic prophecy. We will take a brief look at the history of the earthly ministry of Jesus. We will look at both His suffering and exaltation. This will prepare us for the details that are to follow.

Are we prepared to follow Jesus, to obey Jesus regardless of cost or consequence. Are we prepared to humbly, faithfully and obediently follow Jesus. Time is so short. May we make every day count for the glory of God!
