We now transition from the summary of the Servant's vicarious sacrifice to the details. The transition is done with a rhetorical question expecting a negative response. Who has believed our report? There is great astonishment at the response. How could so many reject the wonderful loving gospel?

We learn that Jesus had no earthly advantage at all.  He was tender and vulnerable. He possessed none of the attributes that allures the admiration of the world. Yet He accomplished the greatest miracle at the cross; a lost sinner could be cleansed of their sin and made righteous before a Holy God. All this because of the vicarious sacrifice of Jesus.

Jesus was a man of sorrow, acquainted with grief. Jesus had sorrow. Not for Himself, but for those He came to save. Jesus was not distant from those He came to save. A true ministry of Jesus allows others to touch us and for us to touch others.

Despite all of this, Jesus was despised, rejected and not esteemed. In light of this, are we truly prepared to follow Jesus. Are we prepared to be despised, rejected and not esteemed? Jesus told us the He was hated without cause. We will be hated without cause. Are we truly prepared to follow Jesus?

Stay true to Jesus and His word. Keep your hand to the plough and don't look back. Be of good cheer, Jesus has overcome the world. A day is soon coming when our sorrow will be turned to joy. Jesus is coming soon! Maranatha!
