We now see the wonderful consequences that resulted from the brutal sacrifice of God's Servant, Jesus. The outcome is glorious. It brings salvation to the Jews. It brings salvation to the whole world. Isaiah describes for us a city whose builder and maker is God. A place where righteousness will be established. A place where oppression, terror and fear will not exist. It will be established, and no one will be able to challenge it in any way.

Based on this wonderful promise, God commands His children not to fear. God has been faithful in the past. God is faithful in the present. We can rest assured that God will always be faithful and true to His word. We have no need to fear.

All the wonderful promises and commands that we see in this chapter are based on God's word. There is nothing more certain than God's word. How important is God's word in our life? Are we willing to obey God's word regardless of our prejudice, our feelings, the cost or temporary consequences it may bring? The person who listens to all that Jesus says and obeys all that Jesus says will be the only person standing in these last days.
