As we begin this chapter, we see that the grace of God has no limitations. Salvation is available to all. The foreigner and outcast are more than welcome. The abundant life in Christ is available to all who come to Jesus in saving faith.

As we get to the last half of the chapter, we are introduced to a scathing indictment of the leadership in Israel. The standards applied then, apply today as well. Those called to leadership in the body of Christ would do well to pay heed.

People get the leaders they deserve, yet the responsibility for a leader to provide godly, biblical leadership does not diminish. Leaders raised up by God are to lead God's church God's way. Their instructions are found in God's word and the example is Jesus.

God's judgment will come because of leaderships blindness, ignorance, laziness, greed and indifference. The Bible tells us that judgement begins in the house of God. Jesus is coming soon and His kingdom will be glorious beyond description. But before He does return in glory there must first be cleansing judgment.

For the remnant, stay true to Jesus and His word. Listen to all that Jesus says and obey all that Jesus says. Keep your hand to the plough and don't look back. The return of Christ is at hand.
