The people were experiencing great hardship at this time. They complained that God was not able to hear their prayers nor was He able to save them from their situation. Sadly, the people have a very high estimation of themselves and a low estimation of God.
The problem was not God, it was the people. Their iniquities separated them from God. Because of their sins, God hid his face from them and would not hear their prayers. You cannot live a lifestyle of sin and have fellowship with God at the same time.
God graciously, in detail described for Israel their sinful ways. It was necessary for them to acknowledge their sinful ways, confess their sinful ways and repent of their sinful ways. Otherwise, their fellowship with God would not be restored.
Those who do choose to stand for the truth found in Jesus Christ and His word will become a prey. You will be a high priority target. The enemies of the cross will attack you brutally and relentlessly. Are you willing in these last days, to risk all for the cause of Christ? Are you prepared to live in obedience to Jesus Christ and His word regardless of cost or consequence to the glory of God?
May we all hear God's word, know God's word and obey God's word. May we all keep our hand to the plough and never turn back. Jesus is coming soon!
Maranatha!
