As we begin this passage, we are once again reminded that Israel has a glorious future. God has given to them unconditional promises that are soon to be fulfilled. God through Isaiah tells Israel to prepare for his return with great urgency and anticipation.
Are we prepared for the return of Christ? Do we live our lives with a great sense of urgency? Are we preparing our lives for His return? Are we encouraging others to be prepared for the return of Christ?
In all of this we must understand that the day of God's salvation will not come before the day of His vengeance. We have some brutal days before us. Jesus alone will judge the rebellious world that has rejected His atoning sacrifice on their behalf. But once His judgement is complete, Jesus will establish His glorious kingdom.
While Jesus alone judges the world, Jesus alone has atoned for the sin of the world. All who come to Jesus in repentance and faith will be saved. As these last days rapidly wind down, may the Holy Spirit open the hearts of the lost to the wonderful Gospel of Jesus Christ.
