Most of Isaiah 63 and all of chapter 64, contains a national prayer by Isaiah. It is a prayer made on behalf of the remnant. It is a prayer that should both instruct us and encourage us today.

Isaiah began by praising God and declaring His indescribable goodness. He then acknowledged how Israel rebelled horribly against God's goodness. Next, he remembered the faithfulness of God. Then he plead with God that He would pity them and once again show His tender love.

Isaiah concludes his prayer with confession, repentance and a plea for God to act on behalf of His people. As we will see in the next few chapters, God does hear and answer the prayers of His people.

Much can be learned about prayer from this passage. It should be an encouragement to our prayer life. As the remnant church of the last days, may we all be encouraged to pray without ceasing.
