Description

I love hearing book recommendations from others, and so many of you have messaged to say that you loved my episode on my top pregnancy and birth books. So in today's episode I share my top five books for Breastfeeding + Postpartum. In all honesty, I would stay away from most of the books on babies/breastfeeding/sleep that you will find in big department stores as these approaches often aren't evidence based or contain techniques that are outdated. As a midwife I can wholeheartedly recommend the following books:

  1. The Discontented Little Baby Book by Pam Douglas.
  2. Breastfeeding...naturally by Australian  Breastfeeding Association.
  3. The First Forty Days: The Essential Art of Nourishing the New Mother by Amely Greeven, Heng Ou, and Marisa Belger.
  4. Raising a Secure Child: How Circle of Security Parenting Can Help You Nurture Your Child's Attachment, Emotional Resilience, and Freedom to Explore by Bert Powell, Glen Cooper, and Kent Hoffman.
  5. Keep Sane and Parent On by Sarah Purvey
