In this Mandarin episode, I explore the history and reason behind Daylight Saving Time and talk about why China only adopted Daylight Saving Time for 6 short years (hint: time zones), as compared to the U.S. where Daylight Saving is still used.

9. 利用(lìyòng): use, take advantage of
10. 照明(zhàomíng): illuminate
11. 能源紧张(néngyuán jǐnzhāng): energy shortage
12. 战争(zhànzhēng): war
13. 增加/减少(zēngjiā /jiǎnshǎo)：increase/decrease, reduce
14. 户外活动(hùwài huódòng): outdoor activity
15. 生物钟(shēngwùzhōng): biological clock
16. 在一定程度上(zài yīdìng chéngdù shàng): to a certain extent
17. 对...有影响(duì... yǒuyǐngxiǎn): have an impact on ...
18. 取消(qǔxiāo): cancel
19. 必要(bìyào): necessary
20. 过时(guòshí): outdated, obsolete
