Delfin was born and raised in poverty in Pasay City, as one of eight siblings. His father, a salesman, was often absent, leading Delfin to grow up in a chaotic environment. Influenced by neighbors, he started smoking, using drugs, stealing, and gambling. After being caught stealing soft drinks and nearly beaten to death by his father, Delfin became even more distant from him.
