It seems so fundamental. It's the cornerstone of the Christian faith. Dig a little deeper, though, and you will find a spectrum of conscious or subconscious beliefs about what it means to be saved.
Is salvation transactional? In other words, do I do enough good deeds to be saved? Is it intellectual? Do I know the right things to be saved? Or is it, perhaps, something else entirely?
What if the answer could be found in a story that Jesus told about the relationship between a father and his son? It is simultaneously simple and profound. The answer is nothing short of beautiful and miraculous, only something God Himself could do. The result is something that completely changes us into different people and ought to beckon others to know the Father.
