Latam - Brazil’s Lula has recently completed six months in office. The three-term president has much to celebrate – the lower house passed the country’s boldest economy reform since the 1994 Real Plan; inflation has begun to slow down; credit rating agencies revised Brazil’s outlook upwards; and Lula’s approval rating rose to about 60%, making him one of Latin America’s most popular leaders. Nevertheless, thanks to the president’s heightened multilateralist stance, foreign policy still seems to lack a clear direction. So does the administration’s industrial policy.

In the latest episode of the Prospectiva Lat.Am Podcasts, Adriano Laureno (political analysis manager for Brazil) and Thiago Vidal (political analysis director for Latin America) share their impressions on the first months of the Lula administration.
