A lot of people doubt whether there is going to be some future period of Tribulation that is going to last for seven years. Some of their doubt and skepticism comes from people who are obsessed with biblical prophecy and make outlandish claims and find fulfilled prophecy in every news headline.
However, there is a very solid, common sense argument to be made from scripture that the so-called Seventieth Week of Daniel, from Daniel 9, does speak of a literal seven year period of suffering that immediately precedes the Second Coming of Christ
