Today we're going to be talking about confident and conscious communication in your relationships.
I've been doing a whole heap of calls this week with some beautiful couples, and speaking to some really amazing women who are just feeling so frustrated and resentful, and just feeling like they can't get on the same page with their partner. They feel like they're either walking on eggshells, or they're bottling up their emotions and having the same arguments over and over again until they literally blow up.
And then they end up questioning if they need to go their separate ways. They ask themselves, ‘should I even be in this relationship?’ They end up questioning, should they just get a divorce.
My heart aches for these women when I'm on these phone calls, and honestly, it brings up a lot of emotion because I was in their shoes not that long ago. I was having the same struggles in my relationship and really struggling to confidently communicate in a way that was conscious and very considerate of my feelings and my partners.
And it took us on a one hell of a journey if I'm honest. A massive journey where we've had to learn new skills and new ways to communicate with each other. What we realised is like many of the men and women that we speak to we're just not taught these skills and tools to be able to have successful communication where we do feel confident and where we do feel like we're consciously considering each other. This is because so many of us are just following what we were taught or what we were shown by our own parents, but it’s time to learn a new way.
