I want to share a little hack which I call excuses or reasons. This is just a little thing I say to myself to keep myself on track because not too long ago, when I was knee deep in my early stages of my motherhood journey I really struggled to meet my own needs and to honour the needs that I had. I just got really stuck sacrificing for everybody else thinking that it was constantly needing to be a trade off like either meet their needs or mine.
And I would always choose everybody else. I am a recovering people pleaser and so I was always rewarded for putting everybody first. I always won the considerate, conscientious student award at school and that really had a negative side to it.
I was very conscious of everybody else all of the time and trying to make sure that I was keeping everybody happy all of the time but that came at a cost, which was me no longer meeting my own needs.
