Description

Have you ever noticed how dense the disciples are in understanding Jesus' predictions of His death and resurrection? It's like they're not even listening! In Luke 24, we hear two of Jesus' disciples say (on Easter) concerning Jesus: "we had hoped that he was the one to redeem Israel. Yes, and besides all this, it is now the third day since these things happened." The irony is thick.

But, the more poignant question is: do WE understand Jesus' resurrection? Is it a hope we cling to today? Does it help us get through the most challenging moments of our lives? Is it the thing that helps us keep our chins up when we royally blow it?

The Resurrection has the power to turn us into grace-filled, hopeful people - if we understand it! At Saints Peter & Paul, we will be exploring the ramifications of the Resurrection through a sermon series inspired by the book "Surprised by Hope" by N.T. Wright.
