• This mitzvah is to keep your promises. 
• We have the ability to create other mitzvot, simply by promising to do something.
• This applies to both vows ("nedarim") and oaths ("shevuot"):
  • Vows are typically on an item or object
  • Oaths are typically related to an action that the person will do
