Hell is part of the good news and part of the frequent preaching of Jesus Christ. How can this be? Why would God do this? Why would an all loving, all good, merciful God allow eternal punishment to exist for those that he loves? Why not annihilation? Why not just disappear from existence or even better, universalism, let everyone go to heaven anyway, or maybe just short term punishments instead of eternity? The answer to this is that hell exists because God is an all loving God.
