Dying in my hole and back!
In this episode we introduce a few simple strategies for catching ourselves when we are doing something positive, or something that we would like to do more of simply by imagining a giant GREEN ARROW pointing up.
Then for things that are not so good for us, or what we should do less of, we think of a giant RED ARROW pointing down. The idea is that it gives you a moment to stop and consider if the action that you are doing is something that you want to continue with or not. Its a bit like the saying, 'act on your second thought'.
I call this next segment ‘Dying in my hole and back’. For this I break down my recent low point and y getting my thoughts out of my heads and onto the page is a game changer. Then with the help of the mindful categories I can see what it was that I did over the past week that was beneficial for my improved mood and outlook.
Finally I would like to encourage all parents to write a letter to their kids, tell them everything that you would want them to know about you and how you feel about them. I did this in January 2020 and this ended up being the most important thing I have ever done, unbeknown to me at the time my son Buster was to pass away only a few months later.
So that’s my gift to you, ok thanks for listening in all these years and we will be back in no time.
Massive hugs Martin.
