Socialism, under the guise of "Democratic Socialism," is once again making an an appearance in the USA, and it's more prevalent than perhaps you might think. It's perplexing, really, why this ideology and political governance model, which has failed spectacularly and completely in the 20th Century, still attracts foolish supporters. That socialism sells fantasy, utopia, is one thing, but that it does so based on other people's money and resources is another. And herein is one of socialism's appeals to the young, the have nots, the depressed--it offers a way out that requires nothing of them. Socialism is about greed, theft, demoralization of incentive and responsibility. It's about blaming society for one's problems and, ironically, looking to government to fix those problems. Socialism does not believe in God, accountability, or individual worth, only the collective and power for the few. "Democratic" is just a meaningless messaging adjective. Do not be fooled. Socialism brings destruction, debilitation, and death to everything it touches.
