Littering is one the most common irresponsible acts people commit every day. Cigarette butts are the number one form of litter worldwide. Litter offers no positive side-effects. Littering is damaging, destructive, and dangerous. It violates God's command to human beings made in his image to develop and care for his creation. This command in Gen. 1:26-28 is sometimes called the Cultural Mandate.
