Artificial Intelligence (AI) is no longer found only in sci fi books and films. It is much more than the idea of sentient robots suddenly running amok. In fact, this is the least of our concerns. AI in the form of generative text development tools like ChatGPT and a host of others are already being used in a variety of businesses and other applications. ChatGPT, released for free to the public in Nov 2022 is the fastest growing app in history. AI sounds good, and indeed much of it may be, making possible additions or contributions to our economies and lives. But this technological tool also brings with it some serious philosophical questions, maybe even existential questions, but the regulations, if needed or appropriate, and the thoughtful consideration of ethical boundaries are running behind the development of AI.
