Cancel culture is a direct antithesis of both First Amendment freedom of speech and biblical Christian liberty. This approach to social discourse, or rather the lack thereof, will one day soon falter on the shores of its own premises, for its lack of grace and forgiveness is unworkable in human society. Christian liberty is the biblical doctrine about God's creation of reasoning and choosing human beings, giving them moral absolutes in Scripture in order to preserve and protect their lives, then giving them freedom and responsibility to think and make decisions about non-moral issues in life. It is one of the blessed doctrines of the Christian faith, even if often forgotten or ignored by believers themselves. Christians should live by truth in the midst of rejection of truth, share truth in love even if reproached, and trust the Sovereign God who will one day bring all things to account.
