Today we are going to explore Galatians 5:25 - 6:5. One theme you will see repeated in this text is the danger of being "honor hungry." When we are honor hungry we get our sense of validation from how much glory we receive from others. Our life is spent in pursuit of personal honor and glory. We feel powerful and strong when we are doing better than other people, and we feel pathetic and weak when we are doing worse than them. In this passage the apostle Paul is inviting us to live in a different way, not feeling puffed up or deflated, but having secure joy that frees us from the comparison game.
