So we all face the same problem at some point in our lives. What to do when trust breaks down? There’s wisdom in God’s word that shows us how many before us have healed from the shattering trust that comes from someone close to us who disappoints us. From Psalms to Jesus, we see how God tenderly leads us to face the pain of lost trust.
DISCUSSION QUESTIONS
1). Forgiveness and Reconciliation are two different things. What’s something in your life you’re still looking for reconciliation for?
2). We still carry our scars from betrayal, even after they’ve healed, the way Jesus had his after the resurrection. What scars do you feel comfortable sharing from your past with your community group?
3). Re-read Romans 3:3-4 as a community group and answer these three questions:
1. What does this passage mean to me personally?
2. What does this passage say about the world I live in?
3. What about this passage is weird, cool, or confusing?
