SERIES: OUT OF WATER
In 1936, Albert Einstein wrote an essay in which he mentioned that we don’t know who it was that discovered water but we do know it wasn’t a fish. It’s a very simple but profound observation. Simply stated, that which we live among is invisible to us. This is especially true when it comes to self-defeating thinking and assumptions. We rarely think about our thinking but maybe we should. Could it be that the real reason we fail at new year’s resolutions is that we fail to address the bad thinking that led to the behavior in the first place? Listen to defeat the thinking that is defeating us.
PART 8 - Releasing Bitterness
Someone once said, “Bitterness is like drinking poison and waiting for the other person to die.” Bitterness will always do more harm to the vessel in which it is stored rather than on the one upon whom it is poured. In this final installment in our series, we’re going to look at this toxic emotion that's capable of wrecking our life emotionally, physically and spiritually. But more importantly, we're going to focus on the remedy - God's power that can set us free never to be controlled by bitterness again.
