In this sermon, Pastor Scott Beha teaches from 2 Samuel 6, where David attempts to bring the Ark of the Covenant to Jerusalem. What begins as a joyful celebration turns into tragedy when God’s instructions are ignored. This powerful passage reminds us that doing the right thing in the wrong way can lead to devastating consequences for us and for others.
Just like turning off the GPS and trying to find our own way, we often choose to navigate life without seeking God’s direction. The message is clear: the presence of God cannot be separated from the holiness of God. Cutting corners and going our own way always comes at a cost.
But there is hope—God is a God of second chances. David learned from his failure, and through Jesus Christ, we can too. Because of His sacrifice, God’s presence is not distant, but dwelling with us.
