Ep 40 - Libra Season: The Relationship Episode

Balance, harmony & equanimity are all keywords that may come to mind when you think of Libra, but during this episode Cory offers another consideration: the entity that is the relationship between ourselves and others. 

Today we introduce Libra season, aka the autumnal equinox which happens on September 22nd. Libra begins the process of relating to things and people that are "not me." Partnerships, contracts, and agreements come under the jurisdiction of Libra, and in the spirit of the season Cory is joined by her partner at The Cosmic Dispatch, Mandee Sheeler. The weekly astro-weather is covered, and in the second half of the show Cory introduces the practice of synastry, which is what astrologers use when they work with more than one natal chart. The show finishes with relationship Q&A from the audience.

In this very Libra episode Cory covers the astrology of the week which includes: the autumnal equinox, a Mercury cazimi (at zero degrees of Libra), retrograde Mercury makes their re-entrance into Virgo - where it meets up with Venus, plus a Venus-Neptune opposition. This week the Sun meets up with Mercury at 0 degrees of libra and in the show Cory explains the significance of this degree and what that means for world events. 

Questions covered in this show:

• Recently a friend pointed out that I somehow always seem to attract the same sign. I have always been a bit skeptical of astrology, but now that I look back, so many of my partners share the same sun sign. I can’t help but wonder if there’s maybe something more to this whole astrology thing but have no clue where to go to get more information about this specifically. Can you help?
• I have struggled to connect with others all of my life. I recently started dating someone new and feel like this is the real deal but I have been anxious and scared to fully commit because of my past experiences. I’m curious if there are any placements or charts that could help maybe give me a new perspective? I have Aquarius sun and Scorpio moon if that helps.
• I would really like to get a synastry chart for me and my partner but we don’t know their exact birth time. I have tried to get more information: for example was it daylight or nighttime - but haven’t had any luck. He and his family are all skeptical and don’t really understand the importance of exact birth time. Is there anything I can do without any information about their exact time of birth? I’m also curious if you have any advice for dealing with partners that don't “believe” in astrology. I see astrology as a tool to help us gain another perspective on how to live together and navigate certain parts of our relationship, but I’m being met with skepticism and cynicism. Any advice?
