Ep 11 - Pisces Season: Addiction & Connection | On this week’s episode, show host Cory Nakasue talks about the Sun's ingress into the last sign of the zodiac - Pisces. Pisces poses the question: How do you feel?! Considering the mutable (or changeable) nature of Pisces - your answer may be: EVERYTHING. Or nothing. Depending on if the tide is coming or going.
Pisces is all about connection. The water sign of Pisces includes all manner of intoxication, escape, spirituality, self undoing, redemption and transcendence. Pisces is the land of connection and isolation.
During the first half of the show Cory talks about this week's upcoming astrology - which she says is a “carry through week”. Cory discusses Venus, though stationed direct in Capricorn, Venus is still in the post retrograde shadow which may signify re-negotiation or re-visiting the themes that have come up since Venus has been in Capricorn. Mars is busy this week building boundaries and clearing terrain while Venus sticks close by trying to fully understand ramifications and embody the architecture Mars is building before fully committing. Cory notes that a commitment will be made, and discusses how no commitment is still a commitment.
During the second half of the show Cory talks with David McNamara, a recovery coach, substance abuse counselor, filmmaker, Zen practitioner and founder of Samadhi Recovery Center. Cory and David discuss connection and point listeners to the Johan Hari quote: “The opposite of addiction is not sobriety; the opposite of addiction is human connection.”.
