The turning in the road

I don’t want to disturb you. I hope not. I want you to come with me for a little walk. You don’t have to get up from your comfortable position. It’s that kind of walk.
Where are we going? It starts with you standing at the side of a road you know well. It’s a fine sunny day in early Spring. The road is unusually quiet. You begin to walk in your usual direction. Soon you reach the turning which you usually take. Today we do not take the turning, but carry on along the road. It is still familiar to you, but one less travelled.
In a while, we come to another turning which you are not familiar with. We take it. We are walking down a little country lane.
On your left, there is a hedge, and through the gaps you see a farm. There are bales of hay waiting to be collected. An ancient tractor stands guard over the bales of hay. There is a warm farmyard-y smell wafting past ...
