One of the many reasons why people stop joining group exercise classes is because they shell up and feel inferior around their “experienced” classmates. Recently I joined a Yoga Sculpt class, and almost everyone in the class could’ve been my own kids. They were young, nimble, and in fantastic shape. If this had happened to the old Nicole, I would probably have run away as soon as possible. But the new me was different because I was tuned in to my body, what it needs, what it doesn’t need, and my values regarding exercise. So before canceling your next yoga or meditation class, take some time to remember what you’re there for.
