Description

Scott Johnston grew up in Boulder, Colorado, during the 70s, climbing, skiing, and mountain running long before books on training for these sports existed.

While earning his degree in Mechanical Engineering, he developed a keen interest in training theories and methodologies and dove deep into sports science, which shaped the principles that have guided his long career.

Scott is now the co-founder of Evoke Endurance and co-author of Training for the New Alpinism and Training for the Uphill Athlete. Scott has decades of experience as a climber, skier, and endurance coach, including coaching renowned alpinist Steve House.

His work has brought the science and methods of traditional endurance training to climbing, mountaineering, and ultra-running, and it’s also found a niche in the special operations community, where active and aspiring special operators have found it valuable for improving their performance and longevity.
