The thief comes to steal and destroy the Fully Alive life that God offers us. We are tempted to think the Jesus way of living is lacking. We are tempted to lose our mind. The trick is simple - seek approval rather than intimacy. Seek control instead of influence. And like Adam and Eve in the garden, when we fall for the temptors trick we are left with shame and guilt.
