As we listen to the news that has us focused on so much unknown in our world’s safety today, I’m reminded of a story about Saint Ignatius of Loyola, born in 1491. He was playing croquet with two other monks when one posed the question: “If the world would end tomorrow, what would you do?” They each took a turn answering the question. One said he would be with his family, the other that he would be reconciled with his brother. When they turned to Ignatius and asked him, he replied, “I would probably finish this game.”
