#TTM EP. 23 - BE BORED
Watch the intro to the episode HERE.
Our brain is very busy getting entertained and looking for new stimulation.
So when we remove all that input and all the stimulation, it's like the birthplace for our own creativity and our own ideas, it is time away from all the stimulation for our brain to think about new things and connect the dots.
Boredom is the absence of neural stimulation. If we were getting stimulated all the time we would not be able to come up with new ideas. Our brain wouldn't have any white space to do it, it's like the white space on a canvas. We need that space to create the painting.
You can’t be bored if you truly enjoy the company of your own mind.
Be curious about boredom.
In this week's episode, I explore why boredom is an opportunity to assess your life and get to know yourself, how to use boredom to your advantage, and how to intentionally practice being bored.
#TTM EP. 23 - BE BORED // SELF ENQUIRY
When was the last time you let yourself be bored?
Assess yourself and think about what you do when you’re bored.
Can you hold your own boredom?
Do you use it for you or do you use it against you?
Look around at the people in your life. Notice what they do when they’re bored.
Does what they do when they’re bored serve them?
