Global Tiger Day is celebrated every year on July 29TH July. In the year 1973, Project Tiger was launched in India with a unique plan to save tigers of the planet. Since its formative years, there were 9 tiger reserves but the Tiger Project coverage has increased significantly over time. Tigers are still categorised as ‘endangered’ and they have lost 93 percent of their range. One of the major cause for decreasing the number of tigers is Poaching and habitat destruction. It is important to focus on tiger conservation as it plays an important role in protecting and maintaining the balance of our ecosystem.
