Jesus continues to prepare His disciples for His soon departure by reminding them that it is to their advantage that He goes away so that the Holy Spirit could come and not only be with them but also live in them. The Holy Spirit is the guide helping Christ-followers in all generations to understand the truth, know what to do, learn how to pray, be comforted in grief, stay in the right relationship with God, and ultimately to bring glory to Jesus.
