Coming Attractions, Tuesday, October 31
Happy Halloween everyone. There is nothing the least bit scary about this weeks schedule, except that tonight may get a bit spooky. But at least we can take down our bloody (used in the literal sense and not the British) decor. Regardless, here are the hex nuts and lag bolts that keep the HLT machinery firing on all eight digital cylinders.

First and ten, a HUGE shout out to everyone who attended our ROCKY HORROR PICTURE SHOW special last Saturday night. Oh, my. Despite the labor intensive evening, the Janitor was particularly unpleased, it was a solid performance by the non-binary, it appeared, gathering, celebrating, it seemed to me, anything not traditionally accepted as conservative. In other words, a massive amount of good clean rock n roll fun. Let’s do it again.
A quick word on KOFM. In the pre-show entertainment video I included two clips of David Grann, the books author. In it he most modestly states that his hope for the book, and by inference, the movie, was to lesson his ignorance of American History. He further states that upon completion of the years long literary effort that his revised and expanded goal was to have his experience of raised consciousness shared by a broader (American) audience. How can one go wrong with an attitude like that? One cannot. One final note: I know that the running time of 3:26 will test your stamina, however, if you, like me, are students of the wide world of audio, please, PLEASE, stick around for the end of the closing credits. You will be rewarded if you so choose.
MOUNTAINSIDE plays Friday night at 7. It is locally written, directed and starring Miciech Nichols, born in Germany but bred in Seattle and Erich Cannon, a 1998 graduate of NK. After the screening of their rom-com, filmed entirely in The Emerald City, the team will be here on stage to participate in a Q & A session. Should be an enjoyable evening. Tix are available on our website.
THE MASTER CHIEF screens Friday night, Nov 10 @ 2130. Shot and produced as a pilot for a TV series, the film will certainly appeal to those stationed at one of the many bases, mostly Navy, that surround our island (as they have for almost a century). I have been running the trailer in the Pre-show entertainment and it deftly passes the eye test, well shot, interesting story, compelling characters. I am personally inviting all my Filipino friends, because that is the and Navy Pers far and wide to come out for this special event. Salamat et walang anuman.
Wee have reached the limit on my word allotment so I’ll sign off today with one more personalized invitation. Please (salamat) come out and see KILLERS of the FLOWER MOON. It is important, timely and engaging. It is a painful reminder of how far we have yet to travel to atone for the sins of our ancestors. I wasn’t there, I did not partake, but I can nonetheless add to my continuously increasing compassion to others. Today.
We’ll talk about PRISCILLA next week.
