Oh, and if that wasn’t enough let me toss the encore your way, George Clooney and the BOYS IN THE BOAT has officially been confirmed for Christmas Day! Any local rowers out there that might have a passing interest in THAT one?
Along with the 2023 UW Huskies, currently a the epicenter of the college football universe, their pedigree brothers from the 1936 Olympics in Berlin (and Hitler) were also featured in the World news as a result of their miraculous and magical rowing efforts. Go Dawgs then and Go Dawgs now! If you haven’t read Daniel James Brown’s vividly detailed and triumphantly engrossing Boys in the Boat work of historical non-fiction, please do so before Christmas. How many books, other than Timothy Egan or Jonathan Evison (of Bainbridge Island) reference Sequim, WA in their storyline? Give up? We are planning the appropriate hoopla in conjunction with that one, so please stay tuned.
