Hiya HLT fans!!!  Among the many bits of good news this week, we offer some ourselves, a double bill for your movie-going pleasure!  We are stacking a pair of new films, Railway Children Return, a 2022 remake of the classic 1970 tearjerker and The Good House. See one, see the other or see both! Interestingly, had I  stayed in sunny Southern California (after college) instead of pointing my 1950 Chevy half-ton pickup (Henry) North in 1974, ending up a few months and several thousand miles later on Bainbridge Island, I might possibly have become a Hollywood lifer in the casting department of a major studio. At this time, I will spare you of the many details and global adventures that my decision allowed in order to suggest that had I been at the helm of the casting ship for The Good House I would, almost certainly, have pitched Sigourney Weaver and Kevin Kline to star in this dramatic quasi-comedy, the same as casting agents Jodi Angstreich, Maribeth Fox and Laura Rosenthal did. Tip of the HLT cap ladies, well played!

To the schedule then: Moonage Daydream, a decoupage I appreciate more with each viewing (I wonder what a film using MY own words and historical footage might look like*) continues through Thursday at 4:25 & 7. The new releases open, as always, on Friday with Railway Children at 4:30 and The Good House at 6:30. Over the weekend we'll screen Railway Children at 2:30 and The Good House at 4:30 & 6:45.

Be sure to ask Cherry, Kerry or myself about our IPA special this week, one that will surely augment both films rather, ah, tastefully. After our summer sampling and polling, two winners have emerged; Bainbridge Brewing's Eagle Harbor IPA and a large, buttered popcorn (we use real butter) and the silver medal summer pairing of Eleven Winery's Patio Bianco and Theo's organic salted almond chocolate. Movies have never tasted so good!

Lastly today, is our weekly trivia question. The envelope please. In Moonage Daydream, David Bowie pays musical homage to the Fab Four, The Beatles, by leading an audience participation chorus of what famous Beatle song? Let's make this one multiple choice. Is that Beatles tune:

A) Hard Days Night,
B) Help,
C) Mean Mr Mustard? Or
D) None of the above

Your answer can be phoned in at 206.451.4336, commented in on our FB site, or delivered live in person at the HLT box office, where we now accept Apple Pay and Google Pay.

All for this week friends, see you at the Historic Lynwood Theatre. Since 1936.

*Probably boring as heck.
