As we count down the days till Halloween the HLT is pleased to add no less than three big specials to the mix. Details on the specials. Bainbridge Island Youth Music Recitals. Jenny Davis is an incredible singer. She also teaches music at the Island Music Guild. Two of her students, Ben Watson (15) and Kaya Clifford (14) will perform in our lobby (small) on our piano (grand) for the pre-show entertainment of twenty people. If you would like to experience this extraordinary event, the recital, featuring selected works of Elton John and original compositions, is available only to the first twenty people to call us at the HLT and reserve a seat. You get the music, perhaps a refreshing glass of wine and then the movie, about classical music back-to-back-to back. What a treat! Your ticket purchase to the movie, TAR, gets you all that.

Forty years ago, a movie was released destined to become a cult classic. The combination of John Carpenter and Kurt Russell in 1982 continues to this day to provide fans of science fiction and horror (merged into one genre) with chilling and unforgettable cinema. Yes, THE THING is back!  As a way to celebrate both the film and Halloween, we'll throwback to 1982 with two evening shows, (9PM) both at the throwback ticket price of five bucks. ($5.00). Also, to make matters even more interesting, this flick has a Bainbridge Island connection. We love connecting these movie dots and I'll reveal the answer on both Sunday and Monday nights. Tickets are available now at the Lynwood page of the Farawayentertainment.com website. Get 'em while they're hot!

Lastly, we've added another bit of history to the decor at the HLT. Remember this video? You know that Islander Ben Shepard is the bass player for Soundgarden, no? Guess who owned the beautiful Schwinn Sting-Ray used in MTV video? And guess where it proudly hangs today? The bike is part of Jeff Gromans collection of cycling lore, and he was most generous to allow our lobby to house its display. Come check it out. And also give our latest podcast with Jeff a listen.

All for now friends. Always a pleasure working behind the scenes to bring you new, exciting and locally connected bits of art. Thanks for your continued support.
