1) A marvelous, painfully sincere and soulful human drama, destined for the Best Foreign Film award, the cinematic sibling to Man’s Search for Meaning, and Life is Beautiful (Grazia tante Roberto Benigni) that will leave you convinced that, above all else, man’s spirit is eternally compassionate and loving. 2) KILLERS of the FLOWER MOON takes the chilling saga of the Osage across a landscape of corruption, greed, ego, expansionism and the hackneyed spin of American “destiny manifestation”, political speak for ‘white might makes right’. These stories (historical fact) make my blood boil. If you are a right wing wacko (and live at Ft. Ward) do me two favors: 1) Take that disgusting sign down, and 2) Do not watch this film. Because your myopic and gaslit Carlson-esque world view will be challenged.
Scorsese, DiCaprio and Deniro take the lead while newcomer Lily Gladstone steals your heart. I am honored to present this important film.
3) BACK to the FUTURE. The original, Michael J. Fox, Reverend Jim, and my all-time Hollywood crush, Lea Thompson, take us on a wild DeLorean ride back to 1955 and the birth of the American Dream (as proxy for Rock n Roll). The 1985 Bob Zemeckis classic is rated by IMDB as the Number 31 film of all-time. Saturday, Oct 21 and Wednesday, the 25th @ 7. Marty McFly lives!
