I remember the first time I struck out in Little League. I was crushed. Siting on the bench self marinading in anger and disbelief, Dad, our coach, walked over and patted me on the head offering the gentle reminder that everybody, even the major leaguers I so ardently tried to imitate, whiff on occasion. The important thing, he continued, was that I would get another chance and the best way to improve my performance was to learn the lessons of past failures, forget them, and be ready for the next attempt. I always remembered that advice and the reason I share it with you now is simple. Yesterday the phenomenal Greta Gothard and I attempted a remote video conference that was to be recorded and used for this podcast. Well, we had problems, technical problems, issues that I was unable to neither sort out nor adequately correct.
BUT, after a third try at fixing the audio in post last night, I was able to manage a 'barely passable' take, and because Greta, her sisters, their wonderfully joyous music and their upcoming gig at the HLT are all such important and magical ingredients of the universal stew, I humbly submit it for your approval. Please be kind. Hopefully we will get another chance sometime before the big event on MARCH 16th at 7pm, the night of their celebration of traditional Irish Folk music at the Historic Lynwood Theatre.
There is the disclaimer. You have been warned. Listen at your own audio peril. Featured in 'normal' quality are three of their songs in their entireties. I used them as both an introduction to their music and a solid foundation from which to build the unstable and tinny audio upon. That was the game plan anyway.
