The Pursuit:
Position & Practice
The Core Truth to Christians is BE what you already ARE.
You're not chasing something you don't have. You're living out what you already possess in Christ.
- "You WERE darkness, but now you ARE light in the Lord. Walk as children of light." Eph 5:8
- Identity first (you ARE), behavior follows (walk).
- "Reckon yourselves dead to sin, but alive to God in Christ." Rom 6:11
- Believe it's true, then live from that truth.
The Pursuit:
Not to earn your identity, but to express it.
Not to become righteous, but to live from righteousness.
Not to gain God's approval, but from His approval.
The Danger of Imbalance:
Position without Pursuit = Passivity
- "I'm righteous, so how I live doesn't matter"
Pursuit without Position = Performance
- "I must try harder to become righteous enough"
The Balance = Position empowers Pursuit
- "Because I AM righteous in Christ, I pursue righteous living by His power"
You pursue—but not in your own strength. You pursue empowered by Christ living in you.
