The politics of this I find very frustrating - but the UK needs to realise that we have always benefited from immigration and whatever the die hards think it continually enriches the culture of this inward looking nation.
On the news during the week of 4th -8th there was this tragic story of a family trying to get to the UK - Mum, Dad and 4 children + Mum was expecting. People Traffickers sold them a deal €6,000.00 to get to the UK by " Pleasure Boat". The boat travelled from a canal 20 miles inland from Calais - it is apparently a starting point for crossings. Rula the 7 year old daughter went down below in the cabin because it was too noisy with 16 people on this boat. The boat was overloaded and it capsized. Rula was trapped below and her dad couldn't get to her. She drowned.
The song was based on a drum beat - but Led Zeppelins "Immigrant Song" riff came out - much slower than Jimmy Page and no Robert Plant vocals unfortunately.
Led Zeppelin 3 was the first of their albums I heard - and Immigrant Song track 1, side 1. I just watched a live 1972 recording on You Tube - amazing.
