Three Basic Objectives for Effective Ministry

We can so easily lose sight of the higher purpose of life, and so many things contribute to this typical human default. Sometimes we become mesmerized by a sequence of uneventful days, or perhaps the opposite is in effect, we're stuck in a pattern of nothing going our way.

Our tendency is to look in any direction but upward, and of course. I'm not speaking of missing out on the beauty and majesty of our atmosphere. We too often neglect to look beyond the moment, around the obstacle, or behind the circumstance. We miss the greater purpose, we lose sight of God's gracious had that holds us even in the midst of our deepest concerns.

However, God knows this tendency of His creation, and there will be times when He will need to remind us, to stir us from lethargy, to shake us out of false security or lift us out of worry, fear, or depression; reminding us of His constant presence and sovereign authority over our lives.
