*Pastor Byron Stewart - Genesis 4*

We read, "In the beginning God created..." and it's noteworthy to consider God's reaction to His creation; "Then God saw everything that He made, and indeed it was very good." This is a summary statement over all He had created.

But chapter 2 of Genesis gives us insight, that prior to His creation of Eve, it was NOT good that Adam was without a companion designed especially for Him. This, then, became the crowning glory of God's perfect creation.

Sadly, what was created as "good" has been contaminated by the entrance of sin. Mankind was plummeted under the curse of sin along with the entire world and beyond. So many things considered by us as being "good" are in some measure tarnished, contaminated, infected with sin.

We learn later that Eve's life in the garden was not "good enough" as she sought to explore the one thing that was forbidden. Cain's offering was not "good enough" to please the Lord God, and soon the family line of Cain would verify the statement that "good is never good enough." When God and His Son are left out of the equation, nothing... nothing of this life is "good enough" to be truly Good.
