*Pastor Nick Abraham - Genesis 5*
We read, "In the beginning God created..." and it's noteworthy to consider God's reaction to His creation: "Then God saw everything that He had made, and indeed it was very good." Unfortunately, Adam and Eve's disobedience brought an end to God's good work, ushering into the equation corruption and sin and death!
Cain, their eldest son, continued in this downward trend through his resentment & murder of his brother, Able. Five generations later Cain's seed brought forth Lamech, and by this time a very dark & sinful society had developed that became known as "the Way of Cain."
But thankfully this is not the only storyline. Adam & Eve were given another son named Seth, and through his seed we are told, "Then men began to call on the name of the Lord." Though the results of Adam and Eve's sin is again on display through the line of Seth, hope seems to shine through. People call on the name of the Lord and a man named Enoch walked with God, leaving examples of trust in and faithfulness to the Lord. Join us in Genesis 5 to see the unfolding of this line of Seth and how God's Word has something for us.
